Taffy Thomas MBE, a local legend in Grasmere, Lake District, is a trained storyteller, with a repertoire of over 300 tales. He founded the folk theatre company Magic Lantern, using shadow puppets to illustrate folk songs across Europe. After a stroke at 36, he turned to storytelling as speech therapy and has since toured globally, blending entertainment with education. As the patron of the Society for Storytelling, he was awarded an MBE in 2001 for his contributions to storytelling and charity.
